Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist -Neuro Rehab

As an autonomous practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, the highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist will assess, treat and manage their own caseload and provide highly specialist speech and language therapy skills to patients with speech, language and swallowing problems within the Neuro Rehab area.

The role will also have line management responsibility for therapy Caregivers within Speech and Language therapy and will motivate, empower, coach and develop team members through supervision frameworks.

What we need from you:

Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent
Experience in speech and language therapy in neuro-rehabilitation and neurosurgery
Experiential post graduate learning and development of specialist skills such as Videofluoroscopy assessment and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow
Experience of specialist assessment and intervention for complex dysphagia and communication impairments, including cognitive communication, using current literature and best practice
Experience of delivering interventions to facilitate rehabilitation of communication
Extensive experience of multidisciplinary / multi agency working at senior level including in the context of mental capacity assessment
Experience of audit, quality improvement, clinical effectiveness and project planning
Experience of supervision, appraisal, development and managing performance including competency developmentand the provision of dysphagia training
Experience of delivering multidisciplinary education and training
Experience of empowering and engaging patients to make informed decisions over their care

We can offer you:

• £45000-£48000 depending on experience
• Auto-Enrolment of 5% pension, and we’ll contribute 10% on top of that
