We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join our Therapies team based at The London Clinic’s main hospital in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive salary range on offer.

Job Profile

As Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist you will have the opportunity to lead the team and drive forward service and delivery. There is great scope to develop and build a first-class service and team.

• Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
• Shifts: Monday to Friday

Key Duties
• To act as an expert level practitioner demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills within the field of speech and language therapy. This will include the integration of research evidence into practice via the process of advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making.
• To use advanced theoretical and practical knowledge to analyse highly complex and sometimes conflicting information to develop integrated and collaborative care pathways.
• Utilising advanced assessment skills, recognise the need for appropriate investigations according to the patient’s clinical need and perform these investigations (inc. videofluoroscopy and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES)) where appropriate. To follow up the results of these investigations and organise appropriate and timely management.
• To utilise highly advanced theoretical, practical and evidence-based knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology to support expert clinical reasoning skills.

Skills & Experience
• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent, Health and Care Professions Council- Licence to practice registered.
• Member Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Extensive experience of working in adult SLT.
• Experience of working in the management of head and neck cancer and intensive care.
