Are you passionate about helping children communicate?

We are looking for a motivated, experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work in a team supporting children and young people with ASD.

Part of this role is to contribute to an integrated Neurodevelopmental Conditions Pathway (NDP) to aid diagnosis and early intervention for children who have been referred for assessment neurodevelopment delay.

This is an exciting opportunity to work both within the Speech and Language Therapy team, community paediatric, educational settings and SEND teams to support children with neurodevelopmental delay to access the right level of support and intervention at the right time.

Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work in educational settings, the community and clinics settings.

The Service has a large number of specialist areas and supports students from Plymouth Marjon University. We have a culture of learning and growth with good funding for professional development.

The Service sits within integrated early help teams which includes: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, The Disabled Childrens Social Work Team, Children Looked After Team, Early Help Service, Health Visiting, School Nursing Service, Educational Psychology Service, Targeted Mental Health Services, Childrens Social Care, Swindon Borough Councils specialist provision playgroup Koalas, and Special Tots preschool group for children with additional educational needs and their families.

Job responsibilities
To provide appropriate assessment, diagnosis and intervention to patients referred to the SLT service in the Childrens team.

To work as a member of one or more integrated teams to ensure delivery of high quality SLT services to the users.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
Licence to practice from Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists, which is issued following attainment of degree as well as the successful completion of the requisite number of hours in clinical placement.
Registration with Health Professions Council.
Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
