The Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service in Scarborough has a vacancy for a suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapist. The role will offer an opportunity to work within clinic, school and community environments. You will join a well-established multidisciplinary team, with a strong commitment in ensuring to support children to achieve the best outcomes that they can.

The Speech and Language Therapy service is well established within the communities we serve in North Yorkshire, and we are ambitious about developing our service to meet the changing needs of our patients. As a member of our team you will be working closely with colleagues in multiple specialities and disciplines, to support children with a range of speech, language and communication needs. We are passionate about delivering the very best evidenced practice, and we want you to bring your own ideas and innovative thinking to our team.

Within the Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist role you will take responsibility for a delegated clinical caseload and will receive regular supervision and support from senior clinicians within the Trust. The post requires you to hold current HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist, and you should have recent experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs.

Applications from newly qualified therapists are welcomed.

You need to have passion and pride for your work, and you need to be able to speak with patients and families clearly without resorting to jargon. As you will work in a close knit team, we need you to build relationships and maintain them in a sometimes stressful environment, so you need to have good emotional awareness.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.

A bit more about us and the surrounding area: Living on the east coast you can benefit from a fantastic quality of life. With stunning scenery and glorious beaches, you’ll enjoy some of the best walking and cycling routes in the country.

It's not just the area that's a great draw. In addition, as a member of our team you’ll have access to one of the most generous and comprehensive pension schemes in the UK, a minimum of 27 days annual leave (on top of Bank Holidays) and an award-winning package of staff benefits (see link on the right).
