Future Academies is one of the country’s leading academy trusts; it was established with the intention of improving the life chances of children through an education that is built on the importance of knowledge, teachers who are experts in their subject, and an unwavering focus on raising aspirations for all. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic speech and language therapist to work with children with speech, language and communication needs within primary and secondary mainstream school settings. The successful candidate must also have experience delivering speech and language therapy to children with autism.

Our family of nine schools has built a reputation of achieving the highest standards for all our pupils. We are an inclusive community where all children are welcomed and challenged to be the very best they can be. Our schools are immensely exciting educational environments and have a warm and friendly ethos. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working in education and improving outcomes for young people.

We are aiming to recruit someone who will work across 4 of our schools, located in London and Hertfordshire. Candidates looking for part-time work will also be considered.

Future Academies is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to work across four of its 9 schools. We see this role as key to supporting the broad range of needs present in our schools and forming a vital part of our offer for children with speech, language and communication needs and/or autism spectrum conditions.

In many of our schools, the Speech and Language Therapist role is well-established, allowing a newly appointed therapist to quickly have an impact for key children and across the school.

We are keen to appoint someone who understands the importance of excellent teaching for children with SEND and the value of having a speech and language therapist developing this teaching practice further. The appointed therapist will be able to work directly with children on assessment and intervention, while also supporting teaching and support staff colleagues to deliver associated interventions. Work with teaching colleagues will also ensure that the vast majority of children with Developmental Language Disorder (and students with associated difficulties) will be able to succeed within an inclusive classroom environment. The appointed therapist will work closely with the Head of SEND for the Multi-Academy Trust, as well as with the SENDCO in each of the schools.

• Fast career progression. Because knowledge and intelligence, rather than length of service, are lauded and rewarded at Future Academies, teachers can quickly take up great responsibility, adding to their already exceptional experience and knowledge, joining the SLT or writing for the Trust’s Curriculum Centre, where our in-house textbooks are produced.
• Excellent CPD. The Trust is knowledge-centric and encourages CPD at all levels with excellent opportunities for swift career progression, within the Academy and Trust. This includes Leadership Development opportunities.
• Knowledge-rich staff team. You will be working with a supportive leadership team, cohesive staff body, and very purposeful environment with excellent resources. Being part of a Trust of schools enables you to share knowledge across a wider range of educational professionals.
