Social Communication Team (SCT) and Mainstream Schools in Islington

Islington Additional Needs and Disability Service

We have an opportunity for a therapist with a wide range of experience including: mainstream schools and autism in the Early Years, to join our well established and innovative services in Islington.

The post will be split into 1 day of working into schools, and 2 days working in the SCT which is a multi disciplinary diagnostic and intervention team for autism for children 0-5 years.

Working within the mainstream you will provide a service for children with a range of spoken language and communication difficulties including DLD and ASC in mainstream schools. We are looking for someone who is interested developing their skills in whole school and class working as well as pupil focused interventions.

The SCT is a well respected and highly supportive multi disciplinary team, consisting of speech and language therapists, OT's, clinical psychologists, paediatricians and therapy assistants. The team provides assessment where autism is suspected, and post diagnostic support and interventions to children 0-5 years. You will provide a holistic service for families.

The Speech and Language Therapists in Islington sit within a multi-disciplinary service for children with additional needs and disabilities and you will work alongside many other disciplines.
