Are you an energetic and creative Speech and Language Therapist who is keen to work in a multi-disciplinary setting? Are you looking to make a difference to the lives of young people with autism and/or complex needs? Then come and join us in Beaumont College.

Beaumont College is a well-respected specialist college that offers individualized educational programmes for young people aged 18 – 25 with a broad range of physical and/or learning impairments. The college is based in Lancaster and supports satellite campuses in Blackpool, Barrow and Carlisle. The Communication Department works closely with the other therapists in college, and has input to both the Education Team and the Student Support Team to ensure that students can access the curriculum and develop their communication skills across a range of settings. The college is a Total Communication environment and staff are trained to implement a range of approaches including Intensive Interaction, PECS, AAC and Makaton.

We welcome applications from newly qualified therapists looking to join an established service. We offer dedicated time and supervision to complete the Newly Qualified Practitioner Framework. There will be opportunities to develop your professional therapy skills and knowledge, including developing dysphagia competencies at the appropriate level to you. The ideal candidate will have some experience of supporting people with complex physical, learning and sensory needs, and have an interest in AAC and/or the development of early communication skills.

The post is term time only (37 hours per week for 39 weeks per year) with a salary range of £24,214 to £30,112 pro rata.
