Part-time 22.2 hours per week


The Doncaster Deaf Trust is a charity that owns and runs a non-maintained Nursery, School, Communication Specialist College and Care Home providing education for the hearing impaired, including children, young people and adults with learning and communication difficulties.

The Trust has an excellent medical department which consists of a part-time registered Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Audiologist, Speech & Language Therapist and visiting Doctor.

A vacancy has arisen for a part-time registered Speech and Language Therapist to join our existing team of two Speech and Language Therapists and a Specialist Assistant.

A suitably experienced candidate is therefore required to take responsibility for providing support to children and young people at our single site location school and college. The pupils and students who we work with have a variety of communication needs due to deafness/hearing impairment, autism and/or other learning difficulties

•The post holder will manage their own caseload. They will:
-Undertake a range of formal and informal assessments
-Plan, conduct and review 1:1 and group therapy sessions
-Work alongside other health care professionals and teaching staff to ensure communication needs are met and communication targets are embedded across day
-Contribute to annual review reports and Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs)

•HCPC and RCSLT registration is essential. Experience of working in an educational setting is desirable
•Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) is desirable but not essential as ongoing support and training will be provided
