Full time role (part-time/term time only can be considered), Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

Come and join our strong and dynamic team to help us to achieve our vision of developing a new national centre for excellence in early autism.

Puzzle Centre runs an outreach service based in our offices in Winslow, Buckingham, providing assessment and support for families and children with autism and other communication difficulties, aged up to 11 years, as well as consultancy and training for primary schools and nurseries.

If you are an enthusiastic and dynamic speech and language therapist who would like to join our growing outreach team this may be the opportunity you have been looking for to develop your skills working with children with autism.

In addition to our outreach service, we run a well-established, (OFSTED) outstanding, specialist nursery for children with autism and other communication difficulties, at our centre near Buckingham. ‘The quality of teaching [in the nursery] is inspirational and, therefore, children make excellent progress in their learning and development, given their starting points. The staff’s reflective practice and meticulous self-evaluation drives continual improvement to provide the best possible experiences for all children.’ OFSTED, November 2013

We wish to appoint a therapist who has a good understanding of the vital part that early intervention plays in increasing the life chances for this vulnerable group of children and their families. You will work in close collaboration with a friendly and supportive team of teachers and therapists to provide bespoke packages of support to families and schools. You will also deliver training courses related to meeting the needs of children with autism and communication difficulties.

What we can offer you:
•In-house training and mentoring
•Specific SCERTS training and experience of using this model
•Peer support from experienced colleagues
•Experience of delivering the Puzzle Centre model of working with small groups of children and one to one
•PACT (Pre-school Autism Communication Therapy) training and delivery of PACT programmes to families
