Partnership of Care Ltd is currently looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to work across all our services, which include supporting living, day care and respite.

This is your chance to play your part in changing young lives for the better. You’ll join a committed team working with young people primarily with a learning disability, Autism and challenging behaviour. It’s challenging work, but there’s no doubt the rewards are worth it.

The role will be based in our day service, but to work with people who have had assessed needs who live in supported living and who access the day service. You will be an important member of the multi-disciplinary team. Your work will fall into two key areas: assessing individual’s skills and then putting a communication plan in place and thus supporting the staff teams to ensure the plan is adhered too.

Following assessment, you’ll work directly with individuals, both in groups and one-to-one, as well as recommending appropriate strategies. You’ll also have a role in supporting care staff, through the provision of training, to enable them to best meet the needs of the people we support. We’ll expect regular feedback that keeps everyone informed. You must have experience of a range of standardised and non-standardised assessments and the ability to create bespoke programmes to meet the needs of each individual that allow you to monitor changes. Your excellent reports will help us keep the local authority informed of each person’s progress.

Your profile:

• Degree-qualified and HCPC-registered.
• You’ve worked with children or adults with a learning disability and or autism before.
• Ideally band 5 or 6.
• Your expertise should come with good organisational skills and strong initiative.
• You work as well independently as you do within a team.
