Role Overview:
Join our innovative Specialist Speech and Language Therapy Service, within Hampshire County Council Children's Services, which provides input to all Hampshire's Special Schools. This is an exciting time to join a unique team of specialist therapists as we begin to develop sold services and new commissioning arrangements, involving new models of delivery and outreach to pupils in mainstream schools, working closely with Specialist Teachers. The team currently provides a service to Primary and Secondary schools for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs.

You will be responsible for providing assessment, therapy, interventions, training and class-based support for children and young people with a wide range of communication and learning difficulties. You will also be working in a consultancy capacity to develop staff skills, enabling them to maximise children's learning through meeting their communication needs. The team has an excellent track record of impact for pupils using TOMs data to demonstrate strong outcomes; we have even developed our own participation in learning scale, soon to be published in the next edition.

You will hold a recognised Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) degree qualification, or equivalent, coupled with significant post graduate experience working with children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will have experience of delivering effective therapy, and have a commitment to continuous service improvement in a fast-paced multi-agency environment requiring a flexible approach to working with colleagues.
