UK Locations

Do you want to work with a highly skilled team working in our outstanding schools? Good news: we’re currently looking for a number of Specialist Speech & Language Therapists to work part-time in a range of locations. This is your chance to play your part in changing young lives for the better. You’ll join a committed team working with children with SEMH difficulties. It’s challenging work, but there’s no doubt the rewards are worth it. You’ll see young people improve day by day and build a brighter future with them.

Ashbrooke School, Sunderland – 3 days per week

Cedar House School, Low Bentham – 2 days per week

Broadbeck Learning Centre, Bradford – 1 day per week

Abbeywood School, Rotherham – 3 days per week

Dovetree School, Hinckley – 3 days per week

The role

As part of our excellent Clinical Services team, you’ll work in an inspirational setting among friendly, dedicated professionals, helping vulnerable young people to develop their communication skills. After assessing each child, you’ll provide expert therapy, tailoring your plans and approach to each pupil’s conditions. It’s a chance to watch each child’s long-term progression and to truly see how your support can change someone’s future. Something that is hugely rewarding. You’ll provide regular feedback on the progress you are making, keeping everyone informed. It’s also important that you can create bespoke plans and use our expert monitoring tools to help you write clear reports that show just how much you and we’ve achieved. These are key for helping us keep the local authority informed of our work.

We expect resilience, high standards and ongoing teamwork. It’s all about creating the best outcomes for a challenging set of children. In return, you’ll get expert supervision, a strong support network and optional school holidays.

Your profile

Degree-qualified and HCPC-registered, you’ve worked with children with SEMH needs before. You therefore know about Autism and how to create suitable plans and assessments. Your expertise should come with good organisational skills and plenty of initiative: you work as well independently as you do within a team.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, we’re proud to have won a reputation for excellence. Our aspirational homes, schools and ethos help us achieve the best possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. To find out more click apply.
