Duties of the Role

To contribute actively to excellence in education by designing and delivering broadly based, substantive and effective teaching, and provide learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g. curriculum development and review, assessment and feedback, research supervision, etc.) as agreed with the Head of School.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver excellent research and teaching, to contribute to the administration and management of the School, and to the local, regional and international profile of the School. The candidate would be expected to have a doctoral level degree in Speech and Language Therapy/ Pathology.

Skills and qualifications required

Applicants should have a relevant doctoral level research degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent professional experience or practice or be close to completion of PhD as well as Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate. Applicants should also have a Relevant Professional Speech and Language Therapy Qualification (HCPC registered or similar if currently working outside the UK)
Candidates should also have evidence of a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) Programmes as well as proven experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in Higher Education in imaginative, engaging and innovative ways.
Appointment will be made as Lecturer.
