Service Overview

At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for c170 pupils with autism, aged between 5-19 years old. Located across two sites, we deploy a wide range of teaching strategies to engage and develop the progress of learners, who present with a range of learning difficulties and styles. We are in commuting distance of Cowley, Colham Green, Yiewsley, Hillingdon, Hayes and surrounding areas.

Job Summary and Duties

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy to our children and young people, working collaboratively with the school’s staff to promote their well-being and best interests. You will be involved in the development of diverse, effective and innovative approaches to supporting and developing the functional communication skills of those with complex communication needs.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, working 38.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year). This position would suit an experienced Speech and Language Therapist or someone newly qualified, having ideally gained experience in an SEN setting as part of their final placement. The starting salary for this would be £22,000 p.a.

As a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, the following criteria is essential:

- Recognised and relevant Speech & Language Therapy degree, and HCPC registration
- Experience within our specialist client group
- Knowledge of a range of assessment tools and evidence of skilled application
- Experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency work within a range of settings
- Knowledge of sensory differences
