Salary: £26,400 FTE upwards depending on experience

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our integrated therapy team based in the Jigsaw CABAS School. Working closely with pupils, other therapists and teachers to provide specialist direct and indirect therapy for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Techniques used include PECS, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction Therapy, and Social Stories to address receptive and expressive language difficulties and enhance social communication. Alongside this are opportunities to input and give advice within the Jigsaw+ service supporting young adults with ASD. This is a unique opportunity to develop your clinical skills within an educational environment with an extensive CPD programme.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning and implementing therapy interventions, for pupils with paediatric language and communication disorders
• Planning and delivering group and individual therapy
• Assessing and evaluating therapy outcomes
• Contributing to Annual Review meetings and reports
• Providing clinical supervision for Jnr SaLT’s
• Delivering joint therapy sessions
• Writing and delivering in-service training to school staff and parents
• Attend relevant SIG’s to further clinical knowledge and skills

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• Recognised SLT degree/qualification
• HCPC Licence to Practice
• MRCSLT Registration
• Evidence of CPD e.g. membership of relevant CEN
• 3 Years post graduate paediatric experience
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary Team
• Knowledge Special Needs / Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Knowledge of a range of approaches to assessment, intervention and outcomes
