We are an independent specialist college for young people (aged 16-25) with a range of learning difficulties. Alongside the college we have recently launched a co-housing community for adults with additional support needs. Within our therapeutic community emphasis is placed on crafts, the arts, movement education and care for the land. Through learning, living and working together each student is helped to reach his or her potential.

Speech and Language Therapist (Band5,6)
Part-time (30 hours per week)
Start Date: As soon as possible
We are seeking an experienced professional to provide
Speech and Language Therapy to our students.

The key areas of activity are to:
• Provide Speech and Language therapy to individuals & groups;
• Provide support, training and assistance to co-workers and staff in the field of speech, language
and communication;
• Provide ongoing assessments for individuals;
Main responsibilities:
• Assessing students’ needs following referrals
• Planning, evaluating and recording therapy sessions on a daily basis
• Monitoring students’ development
• Making recommendations about further/other therapy needs of a student Writing reports – updating
Study programme and producing reports as required for review meetings
• Liaising with those involved with a student education and/or care about individual approaches to
communication
• Providing training in communication to tutors and co-workers as appropriate
• Participate in Family days, training days and faculty meetings
• Work and coordinate with other relevant professionals
• Arrange purchase of supplies and materials where appropriate
• Attend two-three house-community meals per week, in order to model and support SLC strategies
in situ

The post is part-time, days negotiable, 40 weeks per year (term-time) to commence as soon as possible.
(Full-time negotiable)

Salary based on experience and qualifications
£26,000-£31,000 pro rata
