Together Trust are recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist in Sefton for our Together for Families Autism outreach service. This 43 weeks per annum post is part of a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists and specialist teachers providing support to school based staff through consulancy, modelling, direct intervention and training. You will work in collaboration with parents and other professionals in schools and other settings. Together Trust provides education, care and support to children, young people and adults with combinations of complex neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities and mental health needs, and/or who have experienced complex and unsettled family lives.

Responsibilities include;

- The development and delivery of intervention plans for individual young people in collaboration with -other professionals and parents.
- School visits to liaise with key staff in schools to provide advice and support to education staff through consultancy, modelling, direct therapy and training.
- Provide support to parents at our monthly coffee morning events and via regular email and telephone contact.
- Provide direct therapy and consultancy to children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs in other schools, LA's and home settings
- Attending reviews and giving guidance to families and professionals around an individuals communication needs
- To offer advice, training and guidance to teaching and support staff in your role as a professional expert in relation to social communication and interaction needs.
- To ensure clinical practice is up to date ensuring best practice at all times

As our ideal candidate, you will be a qualified SALT and registered member of RCSLT and HPC with experience of working with children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, their parents and teaching and support staff. You will have up to date knowledge and understanding at both theoretical and practical levels of current perspectives on autism and related social interaction and communication needs. You will have a flexible and positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and an empathy and understanding towards parents and carers and be able to work cooperatively.
