You will need to be an experienced and competent clinician, who is able to support and supervise junior colleagues in providing a service to patients with both organic and functional mental health difficulties, across Working Age Adult and Older Peoples wards. This may include working with patients presenting with primary mental health diagnoses, in addition to co-morbid cognitive impairment, neurological conditions, learning disabilities and autism. Clinical experience within some of these areas would be essential.

In this role you will practice as part of the wider multidisplinary team and you will be expected to lead on and provide a comprehensive, evidence based and responsive service to patients with communication and dysphagia needs. A post-qualification and advanced clinical skill in dysphagia management is necessary and experience in carrying out service development/service-wide projects would be desirable. You will need to be confident in working autonomously and in driving the agenda of the service forward, to senior management and stakeholders within the Trust.
