We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced speech and language therapist to join our multidisciplinary service working with young people with Autism and associated conditions and their families. MindSenseAbility (MSA) is a specialist therapeutic educational service based in the New Forest. We provide bespoke educational therapeutic programmes, in a variety of environments, to address the needs of young people who find education a challenge. Our service is highly committed to child and family centred care. The speech and language therapy team is a relatively new addition to the service and you will be part of the growth and development of the team.

The role involves:
- Assessment of individuals language and communication needs and provision of evidence based therapeutic interventions for young people and their families. This is carried out collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Providing training and support to professionals in other settings (e.g. schools) who also support the young people with whom we work.
- Contributing to the development of the speech and language therapy service including support and training for the wider MSA team to meet the communication needs of the young people.

The successful candidate will be a Speech and Language Therapist with at least 5 years’ experience, specialising in Autism and associated conditions. Some experience of working with young people with mental health difficulties is desirable but not essential. You will be able to work independently and also collaborate effectively with team members. You must have access to a car as the post requires you to undertake visits throughout Hampshire and areas within surrounding counties.

This is a full-time post for 41 weeks (term time plus two weeks) annually, salary scale is equivalent to Agenda for Change Band 7, and is adjusted pro rata. Salary is negotiable dependent on experience. We offer membership of a pension scheme. You will receive clinical supervision and we are committed to ongoing CPD. Within the team you will have the support of other committed professionals working with these young people.
