Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist in Milton Keynes School’s Team

Permanent, all year round, fulltime; 37.5 hours per week (Alternative working hrs may be considered)

We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is passionate about making a difference to the children and young people in Milton Keynes with SLCN. The schools team is well established and works collaboratively with other agencies to enable and empower schools to create and sustain communication supportive environments and to develop targeted and specialist provision of pupils with identified SLCN.

This is achieved through a combination of consultation, training, assessment and intervention packages.
We would love to hear from you too if you have ASC experience in particular.

We are a forward thinking service committed to ongoing development, embracing change and innovation and driven by evidence-based practice. We are committed to collaborative working to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SLCN in Milton Keynes and have strong collaborative working with the local authority.

We are looking to welcome an SLT who has RCSLT membership and HCPC registration. You should have experience of working as an SLT in schools and be able to demonstrate a commitment to collaborative working and staff training. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be ambitious and driven with excellent interpersonal skills.

We place high emphasis on clinical supervision and pastoral needs with personalised CPD opportunities. The Trust has an extensive range of employee benefits available and you will be fully supported with a comprehensive welcome induction into the service. Milton Keynes is a growing and vibrant city with easy access to the M1 and superb facilities in terms of everyday living and leisure activities. It is a leafy, green city with many parklands alongside the famous concrete cows! The surrounding areas also provide affordable accommodation.

Access to your own transport is essential as you will be travelling around the locality as part of your job.

You will generally not have to travel more than 15 minutes to different schools thanks to the dual roads and grid system.
