Health and Community Services in the beautiful island of Jersey have an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to apply for the Head of Speech and Language Therapy - Paediatrics. The post holder must hold a degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy together with significant clinical experience over a variety of health care settings. The post holder must be a Health Professions Council registered Speech and Language Therapist with extensive clinical experience. There should be evidence of broad knowledge and experience of all aspects of Speech and Language Therapy as well as completion of a business management qualification. The post holder must be able to communicate effectively and on all levels with other Government of Jersey Senior Managers and Clinicians, Health & Community Services staff, members of the public and politicians. They must meet a broad range of Government of Jersey Senior Management Core Competencies, in particular strategic awareness, leadership, persuasive communication, financial management and breadth of knowledge. The ability to effectively influence colleagues and senior staff both within and external to Health & Community Services is essential.

The post holder will plan, develop, direct and monitor the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Services of Health and Community Services to ensure the provision of a comprehensive range of speech and language assessment and treatment services for clients, in line with organisational policies, professional best practice standards and legal requirements. As a senior member of the Therapies Management Team, contribute to the overall decisions and developments of Therapy services and in the development, implementation and maintenance of Health and Community Services strategic business and budgetary plans.
