At Down Syndrome Cheshire we support people with Down’s syndrome to live the life they choose, by changing perceptions, creating opportunities, and educating the wider community.
We are looking for a trained speech and language therapist to support the development of speech and language of our members with Down’s syndrome. You will be joining our rapidly growing, friendly, and dedicated team at an exciting period in the charity’s evolution with ambitious growth plans including a wider range of services and a dedicated hub.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Supporting schools with assessment, therapy, and information to enhance learning opportunities and life skills for students with speech, language and communication needs
• Perform speech and language therapy assessments of clients to identify intervention needs
• Working directly with children and families to develop communication skills and become part of their rewarding therapy journey
• Participate in the evaluation of clinical work
• Evaluate client progress, reassess and alter intervention programmes if required
• Manage clinical risk within own client caseload
• Develop and deliver group sessions for toddlers, children and young adults

Person Specification to you as the Speech and Language Therapist;
• Previous experience as a Speech and Language Therapist
• Previously engaged with people with Down’s syndrome
• Experiencing engaging people with learning difficulties and/or Autistic people is desirable
• Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
• Recognised speech and language therapy degree
• Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC
• Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle
• Role will be subject to references and a DBS check
