Do you want to help Hampshire students have a positive communication rich learning experience?

If so, we are looking for experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapists to join our innovative Specialist Communication and Interaction Team. You’ll provide essential therapy interventions and class-based support to children with a wide range of Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) in Hampshire’s mainstream and special schools and colleges. This is an exciting time to join our unique team as we develop sold services and commissioning arrangements, involving new models of delivery and outreach to a wider range of pupils in both mainstream and special schools and colleges.

• Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs, in addition to supporting young people with Autism.
or
• Young people with a wide range of Learning Difficulties, including Autism and Complex Needs.

You will use your experience to act as a consultant to develop staff skills; enabling them to maximise children’s learning through meeting their communication needs. Working closely with Special Educational Needs (SEN) colleagues, you’ll also carry out and advise on assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans and appeals.

You will hold a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification, or equivalent, coupled with significant post graduate experience working with children, in a school context with either:
• Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs, in addition to supporting young people with Autism.
or
• Young people with a wide range of Learning Difficulties, including Autism and Complex Needs.

You will be confident in delivering effective therapy and be committed to continuous service improvement, to ensure young people receive a positive learning experience that actively supports transition to adulthood.
