High Close School is a flourishing residential and day SEMH special school. It caters for up to 94 children and young people between 7 and 18. They have a complex range of social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside diagnoses such as Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Attachment disorder and other needs.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to work within our multi-disciplinary therapy team. This is an exciting opportunity for a practising therapist.

As a Speech and Language Therapist you will be stepping into a specialist clinical role. We would like you to bring your experience to contribute to and complement our unique team to help us in our vision to deliver therapeutic interventions to achieve better outcomes for our children and young people. In this role you will be required to:

Provide a therapeutic specialism and deliver this to young people in High Close.
Accept responsibility and professional autonomy for a designated caseload.
Be responsible for the effective delivery, via the multidisciplinary therapy team, of requirements for pupils as set out in their Education Health Care Plans.
Ensure safe, effective and efficient therapy practice within your field.
Work independently, seeking and providing support appropriately.
Work with, inform and direct education and care staff in appropriate strategies to support young people.
Work with and supply reports to senior, education and care leaders.
Provide planned advice to staff, carers, parents and other professionals.
Essential Criteria

Speech and Language Therapy qualification, active HCPC registered.
Post graduate experience in working in various settings for young people with complex needs.
Experience in working in a multidisciplinary team in a school setting.
Experience in teaching, training and offering clinical supervision.

This is a Term Time only position but for the right candidate we are flexible on full or part-time hours.
