Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist in Milton Keynes School’s Team

Permanent, all year round, Full time; 37.5 hours per week (Alternative working hours may be considered)

Are you looking for a better work/life balance? We are keen to offer you flexible working that suits your needs as well as that of the service. We are happy to consider full time/part time/term-time only patterns, as well as offering opportunities to experience different areas of work such as mainstream schools, special schools/departments, youth offending teams and other clinical specialisms.

Due to additional funding we have opportunities for new Band 4 and Band 6 staff to join our Schools Team and our Early Years Complex Needs team. We are particularly keen to hear from SLTs with experience/interest in working in the acute and community settings with dysphagia.

Our teams are well established and work collaboratively with other agencies to empower settings to create and sustain communication supportive environments and to develop targeted and specialist provision of pupils with identified SLCN. This is achieved through a combination of consultation, training, assessment and intervention packages. Our service is jointly commissioned by health and education, allowing us to provide a seamless pathway of care from early years through to schools, specialist provisions and further education settings.

We are a forward-thinking service committed to ongoing development, embracing change and innovation and driven by evidence-based practice. We place high emphasis on clinical supervision and pastoral needs with personalised CPD opportunities. The Trust has an extensive range of employee benefits available and you will be fully supported with a comprehensive welcome induction into the service.

Access to your own transport is essential as you will be travelling around the locality as part of your job. You will generally not have to travel more than 15 minutes to different schools thanks to the dual roads and grid system. We are continuing to offer families both face to face and virtual appointments dependent on circumstances and preference. Our staff are enjoying working together in clinics and meeting face to face in groups again, whilst following Covid-19 safety guidance.
